knife as impact weapon

I new to the forums and i dont know if this question has been asked, when a closed folder is used is it considered lethal force or less than lethal? Is it a impact weapon or a knife in the eyes of the law? I'm in the state of Fla. This could impact carrying a LLC and using it on a BG.

You should really come to one of the many seminars given by Bram. He is constantly giving classes in South Florida. There are many other instructors to include Shuki Drai who can provide you with training and knowledge concerning the LLC and other tools by Bram. I am one of the many law enforcement types who are students of Bram and Shuki. Carrying a common pocket knife does not require a special permit or license. I recommend that anyone who choses to carry should consider obtaining a CCF. The knowledge and experience of many law enforcement officers vary. There are many variables when it comes to using a tool against an adversary and how law enforcement might interpret. Bram provides extensive training on use of force.

Bram is giving a two day seminar at Hialeah PD on January 16 & 17. His training will answer many of your questions. You will have access to some of his students who are in law enforcement as well. Contact Sonia if you are interested in attending.

In regards to
when a closed folder is used is it considered lethal force or less than lethal
, it all depends how it is used. Suppose you never opened the folder and used it in a responsible manner according to the force continuum versus never opening the folder and using it in irresponsibly by jabbing the closed folder into the eye of someone saying you have bad breath.

Concerning what, will you learn in a seminar put on by a certified CSSDSC instructor? In short, a core foundation of skills including reasons why they are needed and what the reasons are behind them are. As you attend more seminars things become clearer and more in focus along with more flowing than say by the numbers. If you get the chance to attend one of Shuki Drai seminars and keep attending them you will be most fortunate, as he is a great instructor. From my perspective, there are two-core type of seminars to attend a one-day edge weapon class and the LLC class. There are other classes but these are the best place to start. When you learn from the CSSDSC methodology, they do not simply apply to edge tools but to other tools also. Lastly, the best way to hone skills is not simply to attend seminars but to enlist a friend or family member to train and practice with you and train with proper training gear too.
